Bowling Green, KY – The Mid-South Conference announced the men's and women's cross country Academic All-Conference team this afternoon. The members of the Champions of Character team were also announced yesterday.
In order to be nominated for Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter. Coaches nominate for the Champions of Character team based on their leadership on campus and in the community while demonstrating the five core character values of the NAIA.
UPIKE had four total athletes honored by the MSC. On the men's side, senior
Jaxon Blaine was honored on the Champions of Character team while also being named to the Academic All Mid-South Conference team. This was his first time being honored with both of these awards. The duo of
Benjamin Hall and
Cade Watson were also named Academic All-Conference. This is Hall's second time being honored in his career and is Watson's first.
For the women,
Amber Moore was named to the Champions of Character team and was named Academic All-Conference. This is Moore's second consecutive year being on the Champions of Character team and first year being named Academic All-Conference.
UPIKE will run at the MSC Championships tomorrow afternoon in Bowling Green. The women are racing at 1:00 p.m. ET with the men following at 2:00 p.m. ET.
