PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Kaitlyn Abdon scored a goal in each half for the University of Pikeville, but Shawnee State (Ohio) equalized with two second-half scores to send the game into overtime.
Neither team found a golden goal, resulting in a 2-2 tie on Saturday at the Bob Amos Soccer Complex.
UPIKE (6-7-1, 1-6-1 MSC) outshot the Bears (8-6-2, 1-5-2 MSC) 26-16, including a 12-5 advantage in shots on goal., but Emily Kuehn made nine saves to keep Shawnee State in the game.
Elizabeth Abbott and Schuyler Jones made the effort in goal by Kuehn worth it with the second-half goals that kept the match out of the loss column. Allison Nagle finished with an assist.

Chelsea Schulte spent all 110 minutes in goal for UPIKE with three saves. Abdon,
Makayla Mendoza and
Carmen Koster all led the Bears with four shots each.
Abdon's goals were her first of the season, she previously had dished out a pair of assists.
Fouls went in favor of Shawnee State 21-13, while corner kicks went to Pikeville 4-3.
