Mission
The University of Pikeville athletic trainers are committed to delivering quality health care to our student-athletes. The National Athletic Trainers' Association's policy statements are used as a guide in establishing recommendations and procedures for preventing and managing athletic-related injuries. The UPIKE athletic-training staff will educate and provide reasonable medical coverage for all student-athletes who compete in intercollegiate athletics. It is the goal of the athletic-training staff to administer its responsibilities with professional skills and compassionate care.
Student-Athletes will receive an assessment of their injury by one of our BOC certified athletic trainers and will receive a plan of care, which is coordinated by the physicians and/or athletic trainer and meets the student-athlete's needs. The student-athlete will be informed about their plan of care and will be involved in achieving their recovery of function returning to full health and activities. Each student-athlete will be encouraged to be responsible for their own health care. The athletic-training staff will provide an opportunity for educating the student-athlete about healthy lifestyle choices.

Athletic Training Room (ATR) Hours
*Any student-athlete that sustains an athletic injury that requires assistance from the athletic trainers should establish a treatment/rehab time. Treatment and rehabilitation protocols will be performed during the hours listed below, however, the hours before practice and games are reserved for pre-practice/game preparations and taping, not for new injury evaluations or rehabilitation. Walk-ins are not guaranteed treatment; if the athletic-training room is full and your situation isn't an emergency, you may be asked to reschedule for another time.
Monday-Friday: By appointment only until further notice.
*One hour before practice and two hours before games in ATR or at the East Ky. Expo Center depending on location of event.   Â
