KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Kaitlyn Abdon poured in a career-high four goals, including three in the first half, as the University of Pikeville women's soccer team blanked Johnson 7-0 on Monday night.
While Abdon provided the fireworks, Megan Stickler followed close behind with two goals and Tori Dillion ended the scoring with one.
The effort gives Abdon eight goals on the season, while Stickler now has three and Dillion nets her first career score.
Lara Verulst completed her first shutout of the season in goal for the Bears, picking up the clean sheet in a complete 90 minutes of action.
It was a good night to get some offensive momentum rolling as UPIKE looks ahead to its regular-season finale on Oct. 31 at Mid-South Conference foe St. Catharine.
With the win, UPIKE improves to 3-13 overall, while the Royals drop to 0-8. Seven goals are the most scored in a single game this season for the Bears.
