PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Top-ranked Lindsey Wilson scored five goals in the first half and eight more in the second to top the University of Pikeville women's soccer team 13-0 on Tuesday at the Bob Amos Complex.
Amanda Kander and Isobel Dalton both scored three goals each for the Blue Raiders which improve to 5-0-2 overall on the season and a perfect 2-0 in Mid-South Conference play. UPIKE (1-8, 0-3 MSC) was outshot 31-2, including a 19-1 margin in shots on goal.
The Bears' two attempts came from Kaitlyn Abdon and Katie Dotson off the bench. Abdon's second-half attempt rolled untouched for about 30 yards, but ended up just wide of the net. Kander paced Lindsey Wilson in shots with 7, placing all but two on target.
Corner kicks doomed UPIKE as the Blue Raiders scored on numerous set pieces as they built a 7-0 advantage in corner attempts. Fouls went LWC's way as well, 10-8.
Bryanna Schroers lasted 65 minutes in goal for the Bears, making three saves, before taking over in the field and putting Caitlyn Hunt in goal. Lindsey Wilson's Johanna Henriksson tallied the clean sheet while having to make just one save.
UPIKE returns to the pitch at 5 p.m. ET on Friday, hosting West Virginia Tech.
