Box Score MADISONVILLE, Tenn. -- For the second time this season, the University of Pikeville women's soccer team registered a shutout against Hiwassee, this time going on the road for a 2-0 win.
Hiwassee (0-2) only fired two shots on goal in the game, allowing Bear goalkeeper Moreka Buchanon to tally a shutout win in a full 90 minutes as she made her first start of the season.
The teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first half as UPIKE didn't get on the board until the 57th minute when Skyler Chapman scored on an unassisted strike. Paulina Ruiz got into the scoring act six minutes later off a cross from Tori Dillon.
It was a far different game than the first matchup when the Bears put together an 8-0 shutout at home. This time around UPIKE (2-1) grinded out a win in a new environment on the road.
