Box Score PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Shawnee State tallied five first-half goals and didn't score again in a 5-0 shutout of the University of Pikeville women's soccer team on Thursday.
The scoring started in the 19th minute with Destiny Chester, followed soon after by Olivia Ball in the 22nd. UPIKE went down 3-0 with an own goal, then the final two strikes came from Heather Hencye in the 36th minute and a final goal from Jenny Campbell just before halftime.
Shawnee State moves to 1-4-2 overall with the win and 1-2 in Mid-South Conference play, while UPIKE drops to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in league play.
UPIKE was outshot 10-4 in the loss, including a 7-2 deficit in shots put on goal. Macarena Acuna paced Pikeville with two shots and Lyndsey Jones chipped in with one. UPIKE keeper Chelsie Randolph collected three saves and Michaela Garner made two stops in goal for SSU.
