PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville women's soccer team shut out Cincinnati Christian in the second half, but the damage had already been done with five first half goals, leading to the Bears losing 5-0 at the Bob Amos Complex on Thursday afternoon.
Maren Hance tallied a hat trick for the Eagles as they outshot UPIKE 24-2 overall, including a 17-1 lead in shots on goal. The first score came in the fifth minute off the foot of Megan Klenk after a cross through the box by Olivia Fite. It was one of two assists for Fite on the day.
Caitlyn Hunt collected 12 saves for the Bears in a full 90 minutes in goal, while Kendra Steepe secured the first half shutout for CCU before being replaced by Mariah Petty midway through the second half.
Jackie Kidd and Macarena Acuna took one shot each for the Bears, with Acuna's coming off the bench.
Hance attacked the goal all game long, finishing with 11 shots with nine being put on target. The aggressive attack helped the Eagles to a 9-1 lead in corner kicks as well.
