WILLIAMSBURG, Ky – The struggles continued for UPIKE women's soccer on Saturday as they dropped a 3-0 decision to Cumberlands (Ky.) on the road.
Cumberlands dominated the match from start to finish, launching 45 shots – 22 on frame – while holding the Bears to zero.
Despite the high volume of shots, UPIKE kept Cumberlands off the board for the first half hour before a pair of goals from Alanna Skinner and Hannah Truckenmiller gave the Patriots a 2-0 halftime lead.
Sara Randez scored shortly after the start of the second half for UC's third goal.
Even though UC scored three times, Bears keeper Erica Burkhardt still had a strong performance, stopping a career-high 19 shots.
