Shorthanded Women’s Soccer loses to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson on the road

COLUMBIA, Ky. – UPIKE women's soccer ended a brutal stretch of the schedule with three straight ranked opponents on Friday with a 7-0 defeat to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson.

Despite the final scoreline, UPIKE kept the Blue Raiders off the scoreboard for a majority of the first half. Lindsey Wilson did not score until the 33rd minute and went into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

The Blue Raiders scored three times shortly after halftime to put the game away.

Elizabeth Lukens made 12 saves in the match while Erica Burkhardt made two saves in the closing minutes.

Dana Turner launched the only shot of the match for UPIKE, who was missing multiple normal starters.

UPIKE continues its long road trip on Monday when the Bears travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Welch College at 4 p.m.
