Piotrowski named IBMA Bowler of the Year; Liversedge, Wolfe named honorable mentions

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- UPIKE bowler Lauren Piotrowski was named the International Bowling Media Association Collegiate Bowler of the Year last week at the USBC ITC National Tournament.

In addition to Piotrowski, Mallory Liversedge and Jessica Wolfe were both named honorable mentions for the award. It is the first time since the 2007-08 season that a UPIKE bowler has won the award, when Kayla Bandy was named Collegiate Bowler of the Year.

It is also the first time that three Bears were named in the award class since 2009-10 when Kim Yioulos, Nicole Burke, and Becky Sulligan were each named to the list.

Piotrowski set the program record this season with a 205 average and achieved two individual wins this year, one of which was in a 439-competitor field. She also made seven all-tournament teams and was a First Team NAIA All-American and First Team All Mid-South athlete.

Meanwhile, Liversedge and Wolfe were both also First Team NAIA All-Americans and First Team All-MSC. Each were also named the Mid-South Bowler of the Week this season after winning a tournament.
