Crossville, TN – UPIKE men's golf finished eighth at the Mid-South Conference Spring Invitational, led by
Blake Maupin who shot a 36-hole score of 152 (+8) to finish tied for 16
th.
Campbellsville earned the team title with a two-round team score of 590 (+14) while Cumberland University finished runner-up with a 595 (+19).
Maupin finished Monday with an 18-hole score of 75 (+3) after carding birdies on the fourth, ninth, and 11
th holes. The Richmond, KY native tallied a 77 (+5) on Tuesday, shooting for birdie on a pair of holes on the back nine.
After clubbing a 75 (+3) on Monday,
Blake Moody shot a 78 (+6) in the second round to finish one stroke behind Maupin with a 153 (+9). Moody birdied a trio of holes on day one, one on a par four and two more on par fives. The senior struggled at holes five through nine but rebounded with his first eagle of the season on hole 11.
Kyle Torrence shot for par on 12 holes in day one, finishing with an 80 (+8) before improving by two strokes and tallying two birdies on Tuesday.
Broc Crist tied for 52
nd overall with a 164 (+20) and
Max Baker carded an 86 (+14) on both days and tied for 63
rd.
UPIKE men's golf return to action in Bowling Green, KY on Monday, April 26
th at the Mid-South Conference Championships.
