Pikeville, KY – As the campus community welcomes the first few waves of UPIKE students to begin the 2022-23 academic year, Bears women's soccer coach Logan Langseth prepares for his first season at the helm. Langseth looks ahead at a schedule featuring 18 regular season bouts.

The lineup features seven home contests to be held at Bob Amos Park, including the home opener matchup with Midway on Wednesday, August 31.  Prior to the regular season the team has a pair of exhibition games lined up in Pikeville, the first against Tennessee Wesleyan University on Saturday, August 13^th. The following weekend brings Ohio Christian University to town for exhibition action, which will also play host to a tailgate for students and parents as part of the UPIKE First Week.

August 25^th marks the season opener on the road at Brescia for a 6:00 PM battle with the Bearcats in Owensboro. The two teams haven't met since September of 2018 and the Bears look for their first win in the series since 2016. Two days later, the Bears take on Bluefield in Virginia for a Saturday afternoon match with kick-off slated for 4:00 PM.

Following the home opener with the Eagles on the 31^st, the Bears will spend a weekend in Crestview Hills, KY for a pair of games against Madonna and Siena Heights.

Sunday, September 11^th brings UPIKE back to Bob Amos Park for home match number two, a Sunday morning contest with Webber International.

For two weeks starting on Saturday, September 17^th, the Bears embark on a four game road stint that sends them south to Florida followed by a pair of games in Tennessee. Ave Maria is the first of the four on September 17^th followed by Warner on September 19^th. The Bears head back north for their MSC opener with Bethel on September 22^nd in McKenzie, looking to end a three game losing streak to the Wildcats. Freed-Hardeman hosts the Bears on Saturday, September 24^th for a 1PM kickoff which will be a matchup to watch. UPIKE's lone conference win came against the Lions in 2021, recording their most shots on goal against any MSC opponent and taking the 3-1 victory.

The Bears return home to wrap up the month of September, slated to take on Shawnee State on Tuesday, September 27^th at 4:00 PM. Coach Langseth and company look to record the programs first win against SSU.

The Georgetown game will be on the road on Saturday, October 1^st before the Bears return home for a three game home stand. First is a Tuesday, October 4^th match against the Phoenix of Cumberland, followed by a Sunday morning contest against UT-Southern on October 9^th. The following week brings Campbellsville to town on October 12^th for a 5:30 PM matchup before a Saturday showdown with Lindsey Wilson on October 15^th to end the home stand.

The final two regular season bouts of the season are on the road, starting with Thomas More in Crestview Hills on Saturday, October 22 before the Bears face Cumberlands on Wednesday, October 26^th at 4:30 PM.

All home matches will be held at Bob Amos Park on the grass field and will be streamed live via the UPIKE Sports Network. Bears fans should be on the lookout for a preseason interview with Coach Langseth in the coming weeks as the Bears gear up for the 2022 campaign.
