STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. - UPIKE men's bowling erased a 3-0 series deficit to No. 2 Indiana Tech and won 4-3 in round three of the 2025 NAIA Men's Bowling National Championship.
Game 1: Indiana Tech 211, UPIKE 207
Andrew Robitaille and Wesley Yazell nine spared to open game one, then Joshua Maslanich struck. Eli Mayberry nine spared and Bryce Oliver anchored the front half with a strike.
Robitaille spared to open the back half, then Yazell and Maslanich struck. Mayberry nine spared in the ninth, then Oliver ended the match with a nine spare and a strike in the tenth. The Bears were edged out 211-207 in game one.
Game 2: Indiana Tech 263, UPIKE 191
Robitaille and Yazell nine spared for the second consecutive game. Maslanich made it three straight nine spares, then Mayberry struck and Oliver closed out the front five with a nine spare.
Robitaille overcame a split and seven spared to open the back half. Yazell seven spared and Maslanich struck. Blake Hisle checked in and spared in the ninth, then Dylan Mishak checked into the game in the tenth. Mishak nine spared and struck to end it. The story in game two was the Warriors striking nine times.
Game 3: Indiana Tech 256, UPIKE 194
The Bears left the first two frames open and then Maslanich struck. Mayberry nine spared and then Oliver struck to close out the first five.
Mishak nine spared, Yazell recorded a nine, Maslanich and Mayberry struck, then Oliver had back-to-back strikes. The Warriors pushed the Bears to the brink of elimination.
Game 4: UPIKE 246, Indiana Tech 198
Mishak struck in the first frame, Yazell six spared, then Maslanich, Mayberry, and Oliver struck to close out the front five.
Mishak and Yazell nine spared, then the last three frames went Maslanich strike, Mayberry strike, two strikes from Oliver then a fill shot eight by Hisle. The Bears took game four and trailed 3-1.
Game 5: UPIKE 235, Indiana Tech 178
Mishak struck in frame one, Yazell nine spared and, Maslanich recorded a nine. The Bears rattled off five consecutive strikes and then Mayberry nine spared in the ninth.
Oliver struck twice in the tenth and then Robitaille checked in the game and struck in the fill shot. The Bears forced a game six.
Game 6: UPIKE 216, Indiana Tech 157
Game six opened with a nine spare from Mishak and a scorebook X from Yazell. Maslanich dropped ten in the third. The Bears continued to strike and sent the series to a seventh game.
Game 7: UPIKE 236, Indiana Tech 211
The Bears kept the momentum going in game seven. Mishak struck in the first, Yazell dropped nine in the second, and then Maslanich, Mayberry, and Oliver struck.
Mishak and Yazell opened the back five with nine spares, and then the Bears struck out the rest of the way. Maslanich, Mayberry, and Oliver recorded five consecutive strikes to close out game seven and cap off an incredible comeback.
The Bears are still alive and will take on No. 3 Lawrence Tech in round four.
