Logan Parker

In July of 2021, Logan Parker was named the head coach of the UPIKE men's and women's swimming programs while also holding a key role at the Pikeville YMCA . Parker inherits a program in it infancy, as the program was created in 2020.

Parker brings an extensive background in swimming, beginning in Corvallis, Oregon where he was raised after being born in Juneau, Alaska. As a freshman competing for Corvallis HS, Parker's talent began to show as he was named Most Inspirational and Team MVP. In his senior season he broke the state meet record in the 50 Meter Freestyle event, winning the 100 Meter Freestyle and a pair of relays. Parker's senior performance helped his team to the program's first ever state championship in 2011.

Parker's college career began at the University of Wyoming where he spent a semester on the swim team before transferring to the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay where he competed for a full season. After suffering a wrist injury, Parker moved back to Oregon and was given the opportunity to be a general manager of a Jimmy Johns at just 22.

In 2016, Parker got his first coaching experience as an assistant at Philomath HS, also working with the Corvallis Aquatic team for a pair of seasons. While taking classes to continue his education and maintaining his position at Jimmy Johns, an opportunity arose to revive a JJ location in Los Angeles in 2020.

After meeting his six-month goal for the store in LA, Parker considered settling down and set his sights on Pikeville, KY. While working at Jimmy Johns in Pikeville, Parker began to look for ways to become involved in the community and return to his passion of coaching swimming. This led to him applying for his new role.
