Bobby Brown was named the second head coach of the women’s bowling program in 2016, and was elevated to Director of Bowling in 2022.
Before becoming the Coach at UPIKE, he coached for 17 years at Morehead State University helping win two national championships. While coaching at MSU, Brown was also a full-time professor in the College of Business, teaching computer information system classes.
Brown was hired as the women’s bowling coach after Ron Damron retired in the spring of 2016. Since being hired, Brown has been named MSC Coach of the Year five times, NAIA Coach of the Year four times, and NCBCA Coach of the Year three times.
Brown has led the Bears to 11 MSC Regular Season Championships, seven MSC Championships, two ITC Championships, and three NAIA Championships. Brown has won 114 tournaments, coached 64 All-Americans, 93 All-Conference bowlers, had 17 Players of the Year, and 15 Rookies of the Year.
Brown is also active in the NCBCA and NAIA Coaches Association serving as president for the past five years. He has earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from MSU, is married to Shelly, and has a daughter, Addison.
