Jeff Curley MA, LAT, ATC enters his first year as Assistant Director of Sports Medicine Sports at UPIKE.
Curley comes to UPIKE from Shawnee State University (OH) where he taught in their athletic training and exercise science programs. Before teaching at Shawnee, he was an athletic trainer for Kentucky Christian University from 2011-2015. Curley was assigned to KCU by King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Prior to this opportunity at KCU, Curley spend a year covering Lourdes College in 2010-2011 while working in Sylvania, Ohio for ProMedica Sports Care. Before his short stint with Lourdes, Curley spent six years as an assistant athletic trainer at Bowling Green State University from 2004-2010. Curley's focus while at BGSU was on ice hockey.
From 1999-2004, Curley was the Head Athletic Trainer for Adrian College (MI). As the head athletic trainer, Curley's main focus was their football program but he also supervised a full-time and student staff for Adrian College’s fifteen other sports programs. From December, 2003 to January, 2004, Curley was brought on by the Toledo Storm hockey team to serve as interim athletic trainer.
Before his time at Adrian, he spent five years as Head Athletic Trainer for Eureka College and was an athletic trainer for the Peoria Pirates of the Indoor Football League in 1999. He also spent some time at Morehead State University as an assistant athletic trainer from 1991-1995.
Curley received his master’s degree in physical education, exercise and sports science in 1995 from the University of North Carolina, where he also served as a graduate assistant from 1989-1991. Curley earned his undergraduate degree in physical education from Whittier College in 1989. He has been certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification since 1989 and is licensed by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure.
Jeff is married to Lauren Curley, also an athletic trainer, and they have two children, Adam and Morgan.
