PIKEVILLE, Ky. – For 14 University of Pikeville football seniors, Saturday's season finale against Union (Ky.) will be their last collegiate game, but it could also be the catalyst to the school's best season since 2005.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET at the Hambley Athletic Complex. The senior-day ceremony will begin at 1:13 p.m., with
live video available on Pike TV.
The Bears come into the game with a 6-3 overall record, the most wins since finishing 7-3 in 2005. Union, 3-7 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-South Conference East Division, has lost two straight against Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown at home. UPIKE is 2-3 in the MSC East as well.
Union leads the all-time series 6-4, including a thrilling 60-59 win in Barbourville, Ky., last season with a late touchdown as time expired.
Pikeville has the momentum entering Saturday with wins in its last two games. A win would give the Bears their second three-game winning streak of the season after opening up 3-0 to earn a national ranking.
