MIDWAY, Ky. – The University of Pikeville volleyball team survived against Midway 3-2 for the second time this season. UPIKE held on for a five-set win in the second match of the year on Aug. 30 at home and again on Thursday night at Marshall Gymnasium.

With the win, the Bears improve to 10-9 overall, while the Eagles drop to 3-15, last winning on Sept. 20 at Brescia.
UPIKE is back in action on Saturday with another tri-match at UPIKE Gym. Matches get started at Noon ET with the Bears taking on Alice Lloyd, followed by a 4 p.m. match against Johnson (Tenn.) Alice Lloyd and Johnson are scheduled to play in between at 2 p.m.
Last season the Bears shut out Alice Lloyd three times, while they haven't faced Johnson since winning 3-0 in Pikeville on Oct. 13, 2012.
