PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- There's plenty of University of Pikeville athletic events to keep up with on Saturday on various live-media formats. Football travels to Barbourville, Ky., to take on Union in its season finale at 1:30 p.m. ET, while women's and men's basketball hosts two top-25 Georgetown teams at 2 and 4 p.m., respectively, at the East Ky. Expo Center.
After starting the season 2-6, UPIKE football has a chance to win its third straight game for the first time since closing out last season with three straight as well. Union is 1-8 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-South Conference East Division. A win today would lock up a third-place finish in the MSC East for UPIKE which would likely finish the season just outside the NAIA top-25.
East Ky. Broadcasting's ZRock 107.5 FM is on hand for the game, going on the air and online at about 1:15 p.m. Live stats are also available on the NAIA DakStats site.
On the basketball side, one of Pikeville's biggest rivals comes to town in Georgetown, which is ranked 17th on the women's side and No. 8 in the men's poll. Both Tiger teams had a rough start to the conference season on Saturday, losing at Cumberlands. UPIKE's women also lost at home to Shawnee State (Ohio) on Thursday, while the Bear men came back from an early deficit to beat SSU.
Both games are being streamed live by Pike TV, in partnership with East Ky. Broadcasting, with ZRock planning to switch over to men's basketball at the end of the football broadcast. Like the football, live stats will be available for both games.
