PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Due to travel issues, the University of Pikeville women's basketball team's contest with Montreat (N.C.) on Wednesday will not take place, instead the Bears will receive a forfeit win against the Cavaliers.
UPIKE's next contest will be Thursday at 5 p.m. ET against Truett-McConnell (Ga.) at UPIKE Gym. It will be the first game for the Bears since winning at UVa.-Wise 63-53 on Dec. 17.
The Bears had already tallied a win against Montreat on the road on Dec. 1 where Shekinah Gibson had 21 points and Kelah Eldridge chipped in with 20.
Khalilah Quigley enters Thursday as UPIKE's leading scorer at 16.6 points per game, while Gibson is pouring in 13.4 and Eldridge joins them in double figures with 12 points per contest. Gibson is the Bears' leader on the glass, pulling down 7.4 boards a game.
