Listen | Live Stats

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –
The University of Pikeville volleyball team is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2007 and is looking to keep the streak going at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday against Kentucky Christian at UPIKE Gym.

Live audio is available through the UPIKE Spreaker site, while live stats are also available at the NAIA DakStats page.

It was a smooth first week for UPIKE, winning matches against West Virginia Tech, Midway and Ohio Christian. A win on Tuesday would be the best start in recorded program history.

A big reason for the success has been the combination of Chelsea Staples and Sydney Hall on the attack. Staples leads the team with 35 kills for a .329 hitting percentage and Hall is close behind with 33 kills at an efficient .417 mark. The duo also lead the defense with nine blocks for Hall and six for Staples.

Libero Caitlynn Praadt is the leader with 32 digs, Sydney Morris has dished out 99 assists and Haley Esquivel has been most productive on serve with seven aces.

Kentucky Christian is opening its season at UPIKE after going 18-11 overall in 2013, including a 3-1 win over the Bears in Grayson, Ky. Hall finished with a team-best 13 kills and Staples chipped in with 11 in the loss.
