GAMEDAY: Football Ready for Round Two at Morehead State

Live Media Schedule | Live Tweets

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Last season, the University of Pikeville football team registered its first win over an NCAA Div. I FCS opponent by topping Morehead State 13-10, on Saturday it gets the chance to make it two straight at Jayne Stadium, taking on the Eagles at 6:09 p.m. ET.

Kickoff for the game was moved back to 6:09 p.m. to accommodate for WYMT showing the game on its This TV station and simulcast on Lexington's CWKYT channel 14 on DirectTV and 28 on Dish.

Locally, the game will be aired on ZRock 107.5 FM with an audio stream available through its web site. A video stream of the action can be seen on the OVC Digital Network as well. Links for all live media are available at the on the live-media schedule.

Interest is higher than ever for this rematch with Morehead. The Bears went into the NCAA Div. I FCS program's stadium last season and limited its offense to just 10 points after averaging nearly 40 per game the previous season.

This year's contest will look a little different as both teams will have a different signal caller at quarterback. For UPIKE, it will be freshman Sani Warren making his second start. The Belfry product shined last week, completing 16-of-20 passes for five touchdowns and added another on the ground. Morehead State is expected to start sophomore Austin Gahafer who took over after the loss to Pikeville last season.

The signal callers have similar backgrounds in their prep careers with Warren leading Belfry to a Kentucky State Championship last season and three more championship-game appearances before that. Gahafer helped St. Xavier in Louisville to a state title in 2009 and three regional runner-up showings the following seasons.
