OWENSBORO, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville women's soccer team has back-to-back wins for the first time this season after topping Brescia 5-1 on the road Wednesday night.
The win comes just two days after the Bears shut out Johnson (Tenn.) 7-0. On Wednesday, Macarena Acuna was the offensive catalyst with three goals, while Kaitlyn Abdon and Paulina Ruiz chipped in with one goal each.
It's the first game for Acuna with multiple goals, she had scored a lone goal in four previous outings.
UPIKE improves to 4-13 overall with the win, while Brescia drops to 2-12.
Next up for the Bears is the regular-season finale on Oct. 31 at St. Catharine. The Mid-South Conference Championships is up after that with first-round play scheduled for Nov. 5 in Bowling Green, Ky.
