MARIETTA, Ga. -- The University of Pikeville's first meeting with Life as a member of the Mid-South Conference resulted in two losses for the Bears during a Friday night doubleheader on the road.

Due to the Running Eagle's distance from other league schools, doubleheaders are used in lieu of a home and away setup. Life tallied a 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-18) win in the opening match, followed by a 3-1 (25-27, 25-14, 25-20, 25-20) win in the nightcap.

The Bears drop to 10-14 overall and 0-10 in the MSC with the losses, while the Running Eagles are 12-7 overall and 3-5 in league play.

UPIKE is 4-6 in its last 10 matches and hopes to add some wins to that total during a Saturday tri-match in Montreat, N.C. The Bears will play St. Andrews at 1 p.m. ET, then host Montreat at 3 p.m.
