MIDWAY, Ky. -- The 23rd-ranked University of Pikeville women's basketball team improved to a perfect 10-0 on the season after winning 97-55 at Midway on Tuesday in Marshall Gymnasium.

It's the second win of the season for the Bears over the Eagles. The first time around, UPIKE won 111-63 in the season opener on Nov. 3.

Dinyell Calvert led the way for the Bears on Tuesday, finishing with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds.   

The 2015-16 season hasn't been too kind to Midway as it drops to 0-13 overall with KIAC play up next at Asbury on Jan. 2.

UPIKE returns to action at 6 p.m. ET on Monday against Milligan (Tenn.) in the East Ky. Expo Center.

·        The first regular-season NAIA Coaches' Top-25 Poll of the season was released Tuesday afternoon just before tipoff. Despite opening up 9-0, the undefeated Bears dropped one spot from their preseason ranking down to No. 23. It was tough to climb for UPIKE as the top of the Mid-South Conference has been good against ranked teams.
