PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- It's set to be an exciting night of NAIA basketball in the East Ky. Expo Center on Thursday as the University of Pikeville men and women hosts Campbellsville with the women tipping off at 6 p.m. ET and the men to follow at 8.

The men's game will be a top-25 battle as the Bears are ranked fourth nationally and the Tigers are sixth. Campbellsville won the first matchup this season, 99-78 on Nov. 22, handing the Bears their first loss after a 6-0 start.

On the women's side, Campbellsville is ranked third in the NAIA top-25 and UPIKE is the first team outside of the rankings, coming in at No. 26. The Tiger women also won the game in November, 93-65, in Campbellsville.

When looking at the series history, UPIKE has fared the best on the men's side with a 58-47 record, but the Tigers have controlled the women's series 64-7.

While there are still five conference doubleheaders left, Thursday night's games will play a role in the Mid-South Conference standings.

UPIKE and Campbellsville are currently tied for first place in the men's standings with identical 9-2 league records, allowing Thursday's winner to take over sole possession of first place.

Campbellsville has a solid three-game hold on first in the women's standings, but the Bears can keep their spot in the top four with a win. If UPIKE can come out on top, it will end an 18-game losing streak to the Tigers, dating back to Feb. 23, 2006 when Pikeville last won 63-57 on the road.
