Volleyball Loses 3-0 to No. 17 Georgetown

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- No. 17 Georgetown kept its spot atop the Mid-South Conference standings with a 3-0 win over the University of Pikeville volleyball team on Tuesday night at UPIKE Gym.

The Tigers improve to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the MSC, while UPIKE drops to 9-10 overall and 0-6 in league play. The Bears are back in action at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, hosting another conference opponent in Shawnee State (Ohio).

Sydney Hall had one of the only positive stat lines for the Bears, tallying seven kills with a .462 hitting percentage. As a team, UPIKE hit just .083 and had three service errors with no aces.

The sets went in the Tigers' favor by scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-21. Rachel Murphy led UPIKE's defensive effort with 13 digs, while four Bears had two blocks each.

Savanna Zakman finished with 16 assists while also coming up with nine digs and two kills on just three attempts.
