PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Three members of the University of Pikeville men's soccer team earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors on Wednesday, two days away from the start of the MSC Championship.
In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved at least sophomore academic status.
Making the cut from UPIKE were seniors Donald Anderson and Brandon Lopez, along with sophomore Eric Bernabeu. This is the third straight academic honor from the MSC for Anderson and Lopez, while Bernabeu is in his first season eligible for the award.

No. 8-seed UPIKE takes on No. 1-seed Lindsey Wilson on Friday
Eighth-seeded UPIKE is set to open the MSC Championship, taking on top-seeded Lindsey Wilson at 1 p.m. ET on Friday at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, Ky.
All of the games in the tournament will have live video provided by the MSC, with live stats available on DakStats.
The Bears recently played Lindsey Wilson during the regular season, losing 5-0 at home on Oct. 23.
Friday's winner will advance to play either No. 4 Cumberlands or No. 5 Shawnee State (Ohio) at 6 p.m. ET on Nov. 10.
UPIKE enters the postseason with a 4-12 overall record, while the Blue Raiders sport an 11-4-1 mark and were ranked 16th in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll.
