PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Devin Conley matched a 20-year old program record with 12 3-pointers to finish with 40 points and lead the 24th-ranked University of Pikeville women's basketball team past Brescia 110-33 on Sunday.
Conley made eight from long distance in the first half alone and tied Allyson Preece's record from 1996 with one second left in the game. The junior's 40 points are the most since Callisha Johnson dropped 39 in the second game of the 2013-14 season.
It wasn't a one-woman show for the Bears either as Kelah Eldridge nailed six threes herself to finish with 26 points and Brianna Burbridge tallied a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds. Adison Corder had a complete showing of 11 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Taylor McGlade dished out 10 assists and Kandice Porter and Krystal Keeton has three blocks each.
Brescia failed to have a player reach double figures as Alicia Salazar led the way with eight points. The Bearcats were outrebounded 61-22 and shot just 23.2 percent from the field.
UPIKE, on the other hand, hit at a 50.6 clip from the field and made 22-of-47 shots from long distance for 46.8 percent. The Bears posted a 20-4 advantage in points off turnovers as Brescia finished with just one assist and 15 giveaways, compared to the 30 assists and just four turnovers by UPIKE.
It was just a seven-point game at 17-10 with 2:30 left in the first quarter before UPIKE ended the frame on an 11-0 run and didn't look back from there. The lead swelled to 33 points at halftime, and after a 33-2 fourth quarter, reached its peak at 77 points before the final buzzer.
