COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Seven different Lindsey Wilson players scored a goal as the 22nd-ranked Blue Raiders topped the University of Pikeville women's soccer team 7-0 on Saturday night at Walter S. Reuling Stadium.
Lindsey Wilson (5-4-3, 3-1 MSC) earned a penalty kick in the third minute when Emma Wonn fouled Sanna Svensson near the goal and she took advantage by connecting low off the left post.
Three minutes later the Blue Raiders added on with two goals in the sixth minute, starting with Emelie Liljered heading in a corner kick, followed by Hannah Schrage finishing a short cross from Emma Lindell.
Before halftime, LWC would make it a 5-0 game as Emma Gustafsson scored off a one-touch pass from Amara Safuan in the 39th and Ida Onnervik got on the board off a pass from Safuan just before time expired.
Lindsey Wilson scored two more goals the rest of the way, one in the 52nd minute by Chiara Epifani unassisted and another in the 87th by Safuan with Epifani tallying the assist on the cross into the box.
UPIKE (0-12-1, 0-4 MSC) was outshot 35-1, including a 16-0 deficit in shots on goal. That led to Caitlyn Hunt having to make six saves and Bryanna Schroers adding three as they split time in goal. The Bears' lone shot came from the foot of Abby Helwig, while Safuan paced the Blue Raiders with six, including two placed on goal.
