PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- Shawnee State led the University of Pikeville women's soccer team just 2-0 after the first half, but it added four goals in the final 45 minutes to finish with a 6-0 win over the Bears on Friday at the Bob Amos Complex.
Charity Collins and Maddie Woodard scored two goals each as Shawnee State (10-5-2, 2-4-1 MSC) outshot UPIKE (0-15-1, 0-7 MSC) 24-10 overall and 19-6 in shots on goal. Corner kicks went SSU's way as well at 5-2.
Collins scored what would go down as the game-winning goal in the eighth minute unassisted and Shawnee wouldn't score again until Destiny Chester found the back of the net in the 30th minute.
Second-half goals were scored in quick succession, coming in the 51st, 54th, 58th and 65th minutes.
Macarena Acuna paced UPIKE with five shots, including three put on target, but none found the back of the net. Caitlyn Hunt finished with 13 saves in a full 90 minutes in goal.
Michaela Garner picked up the clean sheet for SSU with six saves in a full 90 as well. Woodard led all players with eight shots, including five that were on target.
The Bears wrap up the regular season at home at 3 p.m. ET on Monday against Hiwassee.
