PIKEVILLE, Ky. – An overmatched OSU-Chillicothe lost 99-45 to the 14th-ranked University of Pikeville men's basketball team on Friday night in the Walters Auto Classic at the East Ky. Expo Center.

Jayvian Delacruz scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench and Rze Culbreath led the starters with 13 points. Jordan Perry and Basil Thompson added 10 points each while George Johnson tallied six points and six assists.

The Bears (9-0) shot nearly 70 percent from the field in the first half as they claimed leads as high as 42 points at 56-14 on a layup by Michael Chambers with 46 seconds on the clock.

It was 8-5 in the early going before an 18-1 run turned the tide in UPIKE's favor for good.

A 15-0 run followed during a four-minute stretch just before halftime which only added to the lopsided score. When the buzzer sounded for halftime it was 56-14 as Chambers' layup was the final made basket of the half.

To be expected, play got sloppier in the second half, but it didn't stop UPIKE from adding to its lead despite dropping from a 64 percent showing from the field down to a goal-for-most-nights 50.

UPIKE took its largest lead at 89-32 when a 3 by Johnson put it in front by 57 points. Chillicothe (1-4) followed that up with a mini 8-2 run that kept things from being completely blown wide open. To end the game, the Bears got 3s from Michael Antrobus and Dylan James to end up at the 99-45 final score.

The Bears controlled the glass 57-31 and outscored the Hilltoppers in the paint 60-14. If there was something for the coaches to not be happy with, it was a 9-of-17 showing from the free-throw line, but all else went well, including a 19-1 lead in assists.
