PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Pikeville softball team opened their final home weekend of Mid-South Conference play with a pair of losses to Georgetown, falling 6-2 in game one before losing 11-1 in five innings in the night cap on Friday at Paul Butcher Field.
UPIKE (14-26, 6-16 MSC) and Georgetown (30-11, 13-6 MSC) will play the final two games of the series starting at Noon ET on Saturday. The Bears will honor their seniors between games.

Georgetown outhit UPIKE 15-6 and the Bears booted a pair of errors, but it was still just a 3-2 Tiger lead heading into the top of the fifth inning. But Georgetown scored two runs on an error and double in the fifth and added some insurance with one run on a fielder's choice in the seventh to win 6-2.
Jordan Gentry paced the Bears with two hits and Ashley Goines and Lindsay Floyd both drove in runs in the loss. Hannah Skaggs lasted six innings in the circle, giving up five runs on 12 hits with five strikeouts before handing the game over to Floyd in the seventh.
Audrey Dodd picked up the win in the circle after scattering six hits for two runs in five innings, while Hannah Morton grabbed the save without allowing a hit in the final two innings. Chaselyn Allgeier, Katie Young and Cassidy Janes all had three hits each for the Tigers.
Trailing 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Goines drove in Kitty Raymond with a sacrifice fly and Floyd scored Logan Cline with a single, but that's as close as the Bears would get the rest of the way.
(RV) Georgetown 11, UPIKE 1
Georgetown scored the first six runs of the game, including four in the first inning, and UPIKE didn't get on the board until the bottom of the fourth when it was already down 11-0.
Up 6-0 heading into the fourth inning, the Tigers effectively put the game away with a five-run fourth that led to a run-rule shortened outcome.
Young had a big game for the visitors, going 4 for 4 at the plate with a triple, four RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Hannah Morton collected the pitching win after a complete five inning of only allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts against two walks.
Floyd went 2 for 2 at the dish to lead UPIKE and Destiny Molden hit a home run to left field to score the team's lone run. The loss went to Hannah Thacker (4-8) after allowing four runs on three walks and no hits in 1/3 of the first inning.
Three of Georgetown's first four batters were walked and the other was hit by a pitch. After Alexandra Quill replaced Thacker in the circle, she gave up a bases-loaded triple to bring home the remaining three runs in the inning. The Tigers scored in four of the five innings played. Â
