MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Heavy rain in the Memphis area forced the cancelation of the University of Pikeville's men's and women's soccer games in the Freed-Hardeman Lions Cup on Thursday.

It was halftime of the Bears' women's game against Bryan when the playing field was deemed unplayable. Unable to reach the required 70 minutes of play, the game was canceled with no plans to be made up.

The men's game against Brewton-Parker was never started.

Now all the teams in the Lions Cup are waiting for a decision on games scheduled for Friday. As of the posting of this release, the UPIKE women are scheduled to face Freed-Hardeman at 3 p.m. ET with the men's game to follow at 5 p.m.
