PIKEVILLE, Ky. – The University of Pikeville men's and women's soccer teams, as well as the men's and women's cross country teams will all take the day off as their respective events were canceled due to severe weather throughout the region on Friday.

This makes the second straight day that the soccer teams will have games canceled as none of the action at the Freed-Hardeman Lions Cup was able to be played. The Bears will return from Memphis and being preparations for home games next Thursday and Friday.

UPIKE's cross country teams were scheduled to open their seasons at the Centre College Invitational which was being held in Berea, but rain has made that course unsafe for competition as well.

Those teams will instead look to Sept. 16 as the season openers at the Mike and Mary Kay Invitational hosted by Berea.
