Box Score KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- One-hundred minutes of soccer wasn't enough to decide a winner between the University of Pikeville men's soccer team and Johnson as they finished in a 2-2 tie on Wednesday night.
The Bears (0-3-1) looked well on their way to the first win of the season with a 2-0 lead in the second half, but the Royals (1-2-1) thought better of it and countered with a pair of equalizers.
Eric Bernabeu scored his first goal of the season in the first half off of a corner kick to give UPIKE a 1-0 lead. In the second half, Max Isenberg made it 2-0 when Johnson's goalkeepers mishandled a save, allowing Isenberg to finish the loose ball into the back of the net.
Johnson avoided a second straight loss however by countering down the stretch, but neither team could find the golden goal to win it in extra time.
