PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- It's been over two weeks since the University of Pikeville football team has taken the field after extreme weather forced the postponement of last week's game. While the regions hit continue to recover, some since of normalcy will return for the Bears as they host Kentucky Christian at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday for the home opener at the Hambley Athletic Complex.
In its last game, UPIKE (0-2) lost at NCAA Div. II Carson-Newman (Tenn.) 48-7, while KCU (0-3) lost to Union 43-14 in its last contest. Now both teams will be hungry for their first wins of the season as Mid-South Conference divisional play looms ahead.
UPIKE leads the all-time series with Kentucky Christian 7-2, including a 30-19 win at home last season in Pikeville. Head coach Allan Holland, Jr., has never lost to the Knights, sporting a 3-0 record. Â
