OWENSBORO, Ky. -- It was a tight contest all game long, but in the end, Brescia came away with a 3-2 win over the University of Pikeville soccer team on Wednesday night.

UPIKE (2-5-1) was outshot 11-5, but had an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks after pushing the pace in the second half. But after tying the game at 1-1 early in the second stanza, the Bears gave up two straight goals to the Bearcats in the 70th and 75th minutes to make the difference.

The Bears got on the board one more time in the 89th, but it was too late to complete the comeback.

Brescia scored the first goal of the game in the 15th minute, and the score still stood at 1-0 at halftime.

Anibal Navarro finished with five saves to lead UPIKE and Brescia got two goals from Ricardo Mijano to lead its side.
