CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -- The University of Pikeville baseball team scrambled to find a quick doubleheader after seeing its previously scheduled games washed out and ended up losing twice at NCAA Div. II Ohio Dominican on Friday.
The Panthers (2-0) scored early and often in the opener en route to an 18-0 win. UPIKE (2-4) was tied with ODU 4-4 through six innings in game two before a single to right by Max Banke in extras scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of the nightcap.
It was just 1-0 through the first inning in the opener, but the Panthers went on to tally 16 runs over the next three to break things open.
Dalton Dahley took the loss in game one after giving up five runs in 1 1/3 innings of work and Bruce Bell was handed the game-two loss after allowing one run in the eighth with a 4-4 tie.
