LEXINGTON, Ky. – After moving the match to the Lexington Tennis Club due to weather, the University of Pikeville women's tennis team came up empty against Georgetown, falling 9-0 in Mid-South Conference play on Saturday.
Both doubles matches that were contested were close as top-seeded Samantha Fraser and Andrea Hurtado lost 8-5 to Shae Henry and Natalie Fiepke, while second seeded Camila Agudelo and Cailee Marcum fell to Abigail Kennedy and Emily Novak 8-2.
UPIKE traveled with five players, so the third doubles match was lost by default.
Madison Daniels fared the best in singles play as she lost 6-3, 6-2 to Novak at the fifth seed. Agudelo and Fraser both won two games in a set during their singles losses as well.
