CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – UPIKE women's soccer was unable to build its recent success into a winning streak on Wednesday, losing its first contest against Mid-South Conference newcomer Thomas More, 4-0.
Unfortunately, the Bears fell into a hole early and trailed 2-0 within the first ten minutes.
But from there, Pikeville was able to settle in defensively and start to limit chances for the Saints. The Bears got two shots off in the first half, both from the foot from Emily Branham.
UPIKE wasn't able to must much offense after halftime as the Saints began to pull away. Elizabeth Lukens made 13 saves in her 84 minutes in goal, while Erica Burkhardt closed out the match and got three saves.
