PIKEVILLE, Ky. – UPIKE women's soccer couldn't continue its recent success on Saturday, losing to Georgetown 7-0 in a Mid-South Conference matchup.
Georgetown dominated possession throughout the game, resulting in frequent scoring opportunities for the Tigers. Outside of a quick goal by Olivia Ashby, UPIKE's defenders and keeper Elizabeth Lukens kept Georgetown out of the back of the net for the first 40 minutes.
GC went into halftime with just a 2-0 lead and felt pressure quickly after halftime with two shots on goal from Emily Branham.
Georgetown then broke the game open with three goals in a four-minute span. Overall, Lukens made 21 saves in the match.
