LAST TIME OUT:  UPIKE football rattled off its second straight road win in division play last week against Campbellsville and this win came in big part thanks to the Bears defense. Pikeville recorded a program-record tying 11 sacks in the win while holding the Tigers to a total of two yards of rushing offense. The Bears also recorded a special teams touchdown for the second consecutive week by blocking another punt and returning it for a touchdown.

SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS: Lindsey Wilson is once again loaded on both sides of the ball, boasting one of the nation's top offenses.

Led by quarterback Cameron Dukes, LWC boasts the No. 7 passing offense in the NAIA, throwing for just over 300 yards per game. Dukes himself is sixth in the NAIA in pass yardage per game. But the run game for the Blue Raiders is nothing to scoff at either, averaging 152 yards per game.

LWC's biggest strength on defense also counters the Bears' biggest strength in the run game. The Blue Raiders allow just 121 yards per game on the ground.

TOUGH SLEDDING: Today's matchup is the fourth official contest against a team mentioned in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll. In addition to today, the Bears will face currently ranked or mentioned teams two more times before the season ends.

SPECIAL TEAMS SPECIALTY: The Bears have excelled this season in the game's forgotten third. UPIKE is fourth in punt return yards per attempt at 21.9, whiile also 27th in punt yards per attempt (37.5) and have only missed one extra point all season.

TOP-LEVEL BEARS: Through three games, UPIKE is 24th in the NAIA in rushing offense with 183 yards on the ground this season. and are equally as good at stopping the run, allowing 123 yards per game. Individually, Alexander Shelton is 28th in total scoring thanks to his four total touchdowns this season. Two Bears defenders are ranked in the top 50 in passes defended as Taeron Brown and Cedric Thomas are 18th and 42nd in the NAIA, respectively. Thomas is also 19th in the NAIA with three total interceptions.

20 YEARS OF BEARS FOOTBALL: This season marks UPIKE's 20th year of football. Players will wear decals on their helmet all season to signify the anniversary. UPIKE holds an all-time record of 88-114, but head coach Al Holland is turning the program around with winning seasons two of the last three years.
