PIKEVILLE, Ky. – UPIKE men's soccer was minutes away from pulling off a marquee upset, but Life was able to pull off a quick comeback to win 2-1.
After a strong defensive half that featured only one shot on goal from either team, Eric Bernabeu got the Bears on the board five minutes after halftime on a 30-yard free kick to the top of the net.
UPIKE then held that lead for nearly 20 minutes before Life finally beat Pikeville keep Anibal Navarro. They then took the lead a minute and a half later.
Pikeville repeatedly tried to rush the offensive zone in the final two minutes, but were unable to get an equalizer.
