PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Pikeville women's basketball picked up its third straight win with a dominant effort against Virgin Islands on Friday, 91-56.
Twelve players scored for the Bears, led by Bailey Frazier's team high 15 points. The freshman hit three 3-pointers off the bench in the win.
UPIKE set the game out of distance by outscoring the Buccaneers by 16 in the third quarter.
Even though Virgin Islands shot 58 percent, the Bears forced plentiful turnovers to build the lead.
Brianna Burbridge and AJ Reed both provided valuable contributions off the bench. Burbridge scored 13 points and was a rebound shy of a double-double. Meanwhile, Reed filled it up in many stat columns with nine points, five assists, and four rebounds.
The Bears took care of business at the free-throw stripe as well, making 17 of 22 attempts.
