BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- UPIKE women's golf couldn't complete the comeback and finished second at the MSC Championship.
The finish is the best in program history at a MSC tournament, topping this team's third place finish at the MSC Spring Invite earlier this semester.
In addition to the team honors, Ellen Kehoe was named the Mid-South Conference's Golfer of the Year by virtue of having the best scoring average across MSC events this year. Boo Newsome finished less than a stroke behind Kehoe to earn First Team All-MSC honors.
Pikeville finished 20-strokes back of first-place Cumberlands (Ky.), and 14 strokes ahead of third-place Cumberland (Tenn.) and Lindsey Wilson.
Kehoe shot a 4-over-76 on Wednesday to finish second overall, two strokes back of individual winner Carlee Shoemaker of Cumberlands (Ky.). Newsome was just behind Kehoe, tied for third at 15-over overall after shooting a 7-over on Wednesday.
Grace Morris finished in a tie for 16th at 33-over overall while Alexis Stambaugh finished one stroke behind Morris in a tie for 18th.
Adriane Mason finished in a tie for 26th at 50-over to round out the UPIKE field.
