MONTREAT, N.C. – UPIKE women's soccer opened the season on Saturday night against Montreat, and despite losing 4-1, there were multiple highlights to take away from the match.
Sophomore Mya Holmes scored UPIKE's only goal in the 69th minute, her first collegiate goal of her career. She got two shots on goal in the game.
Freshman Taylor Stamper also made her presence felt in her first game of college ball as well, launching three shots in the game. Reagan Bridge, Jillian Kidd, Skylar Chapman, and Kate Auvil all also got shots off in the game.
Sophomore Erica Burkhardt and freshman Elizabeth Lukens each had a half in goal and each had seven saves in the game.
