Women’s basketball drops road contest at No. 14 Lindsey Wilson

COLUMBIA, Ky. – UPIKE's two-game road trip through central Kentucky came to a tough close on Saturday with a 79-52 loss to No. 14 Lindsey Wilson.

Lindsey Wilson was propelled to victory due to its strength on the glass. The Blue Raiders had a +18 advantage in rebounding, including 10 more offensive rebounds.

Pikeville hung around with LWC early until it closed the quarter on an 11-3 run to lead 20-12. Sierra Feltner and Mary Englert scored 11 of UPIKE's 12 points in the quarter and provided most of the offensive production in the early going.

Feltner was one of three Bears in double-figures with 13 points on the night with 5-11 shooting in her second game back from injury. Englert meanwhile added 13 points and four rebounds.

UPIKE's most productive quarter was easily the fourth quarter when the Bears scored 18 points.

Brianna Burbridge scored nine points herself in the fourth to wind up leading all Pikeville scorers with 16 points. She also tied with Mia Greatrex with seven rebounds for the team high.

Although LWC forced more turnovers than the Bears (12-7), Pikeville did an excellent job of limiting clean looks off those turnovers. Lindsey Wilson only outscored UPIKE 13-12 off those turnovers.
