PIKEVILLE, KY – The University of Pikeville men's soccer team played its first game of the fall season versus Johnson University.
The Bears didn't waste any time getting in the scoring column first with an unassisted goal from left back Jacob Toy. This was Toy's first career goal.
UPIKE was able to find the back of the net again in the first half with a goal from transfer player Jeinner Farfan, assisted by freshman Richard Wohl.
While UPIKE would create chances both on the field and on set pieces they were unable to continue the scoring in the second half.
UPIKE freshman goalkeeper Jalen Smith recorded his first start and clean sheet between the sticks while Gabriel Torres closed out the game in goal. UPIKE is back in action at home in an exhibition match versus Salem University on Tuesday.
